To comply with IMDA regulations, all eSIM users must complete electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) verification before purchasing our Singapore eSIM data plan.
This process helps protect mobile infrastructure from misuse and ensures each SIM is tied to a verified individual.
What You’ll Need to Activate a Singapore eSIM
To purchase and activate your Singapore eSIM, the following documents are required depending on your residency status:
For Singapore Citizens and PRs:
- Singpass is required for identity verification.
For Foreigners and Tourists:
- A valid passport is required during the eKYC process.

The process is straightforward:
- Download the Eskimo App (iOS or Android)
- Select “Singapore” from the list of available countries
- Choose your data plan (all plans come with a 2-year validity)
- Proceed to eKYC Verification
- Wait for Approval - usually takes less than 5 minutes
- Once approved, don't forget to apply the SGTRIP discount code for a 50% off discount
- Install eSIM on your iPhone or Android device
- Select Eskimo as your Mobile Data option and Data Roaming enabled when you're ready to connect.

What Happens If You Skip eKYC?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to purchase or use the Singapore eSIM without completing the identity verification process.
This is not something Eskimo can bypass. The requirement is imposed by the IMDA and applies to all local telcos. Your data and identity are handled securely and are only used for regulatory compliance.
Regardless, eKYC is only required for Singapore data plan. You can continue using other data plans as per normal.
