7 Days Itinerary: Hanoi and Sa Pa (from the United States)

• Ideal for travelers who want to experience both Vietnam’s lively capital and its mountain beauty

Stay in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, the most convenient and vibrant area for tourists

• Enjoy a balance of culture, local food, and nature adventures

Day 1 – Depart from the United States

Depart from your nearest international airport

• Most flights have one layover, usually in Seoul, Taipei, or Tokyo

• Flight duration is around 20 to 25 hours

Meals and overnight stay are included on the plane

Day 2 – Arrival in Hanoi

Arrive at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN)

• Take a taxi or Grab car to your hotel in Old Quarter

Check in and rest after the long flight

• In the afternoon, walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple

Dinner at Pho 10 Ly Quoc Su or Bun Cha Huong Lien

Day 3 – Explore Hanoi’s Culture and History

• Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, and Presidential Palace

• Explore Temple of Literature and Hoa Lo Prison Museum

Lunch at Cha Ca Thang Long for traditional grilled fish

• Watch a Water Puppet Show in the evening

• Visit Hanoi Night Market and enjoy local street food

Day 4 – Travel to Sa Pa by Sleeper Bus

• Morning or evening departure by sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sa Pa, travel time around 6 to 7 hours

• Arrive in Sa Pa and check in at your hotel

• In the afternoon, visit Cat Cat Village to experience Hmong culture and local crafts

Dinner at Good Morning Vietnam Restaurant or Mountain Bar and Pub

Day 5 – Trekking to Ethnic Villages

• Join a full-day trekking tour to Lao Chai and Ta Van Villages

Walk through terraced rice fields and learn about ethnic minority life

Lunch at a local restaurant in the village

• Return to Sa Pa town and relax with a Red Dao herbal bath or massage

Dinner at The Hill Station Signature Restaurant

Day 6 – Visit Fansipan Mountain and Return to Hanoi by Sleeper Bus

• In the morning, visit Fansipan Mountain by cable car, the highest peak in Indochina

• Optional stop at Silver Waterfall or Heaven’s Gate for scenic views

• Afternoon sleeper bus back to Hanoi, travel time around 6 to 7 hours

• Evening arrival and check in again at your hotel in the Old Quarter

Dinner at Home Hanoi Restaurant or Duong’s Restaurant

Day 7 – Last Day and Departure

• Free morning for shopping at Dong Xuan Market or visiting Bat Trang Ceramic Village

• Enjoy your last cup of Vietnamese egg coffee at Café Giang

• Take a taxi or Grab car to Noi Bai Airport for your flight back to the United States.
