Disneyland Around the World: Differences, Ticket Prices, and All Tips

1. Disneyland Resort (Anaheim) – California, USA

What’s special: This is the original Disney park founded by Walt Disney in 1955; it has a strong nostalgic value, classic attractions, plus the neighbouring Disney California Adventure Park.

Entrance fee: For a 1-day, 1-park ticket, prices vary by “tier” (based on date/demand). As of 2025 the lowest tier is around US $104 for adults; the highest tier for a peak day is up to US $224.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • For younger kids (say ~4-8): there are plenty of gentle rides, character meet-&-greets, parades.
  • For older children & teens: thrills, coasters and “big-kid” experiences are well represented.
  • Families with mixed ages: great choice because the park offers both mild and intense experiences.

Tip: Because ticket cost is high, pick a slightly less crowded date if possible, and arrive early.

2. Walt Disney World Resort – Florida, USA

What’s special: A massive resort with four major parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom). Great for extended stays.

Entrance fee: While I don’t have the latest one-day ticket figure in full here, one article lists ranges of adult tickets from ~$139 to ~$199 depending on date/demand.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • Young children: Magic Kingdom has classic Disney charm, many rides suited for them.
  • Older kids/teens/adults: With the variety of parks, many thrill rides, immersive experiences exist.
  • Ideal for families who can spend multiple days and want variety.

3. Disneyland Paris – France

What’s special: European version of Disney magic, with some unique attractions/variations (for example a big animatronic dragon beneath the castle). Some differences in vibe due to being in France/Europe.

Entrance fee: For a 1-day, 1-park ticket it starts around €50 (for low-demand days) for adults. For 1-day, 2-park it can rise up to around €175 in peak times.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • Young kids (0-3): Kids under 3 get free admission in many cases.
  • Age ~4-8: Many suggest that’s an ideal range where children remember it and can enjoy many rides.
  • For older kids/teens: Yes, there are thrill rides (Hyperspace Mountain, etc), but they may find some of the offerings less intense compared to other resorts if you’re purely thrill-seeking.

4. Tokyo Disney Resort – Japan (Includes Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea)

What’s special: Tokyo Disneyland is similar in charm to the US versions but with unique versions of rides. Tokyo DisneySea is often praised as a standout park even among Disney fans, with more adult/teen appeal and unique theming.

Entrance fee:

  • 1-Day Passport for adults (18+) at Tokyo Disneyland: ~ ¥7,900-¥10,900 depending on day.
  • Similar tiers exist for Tokyo DisneySea.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • For young children: Very doable. There are many attractions suitable for younger kids; for example Tokyo DisneySea has an official “Enjoying with children ages 3 and under” guide.
  • Teens/adults: Tokyo DisneySea has many more “big ride” options and themed experiences that older guests may prefer compared to purely toddlers’ rides.

Tip: If you are mainly adults, Tokyo Disneyland might be the better single-park choice; if traveling with younger kids, Tokyo Disney-Sea is very family-friendly. Arrive early to beat crowds.

5. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort – Hong Kong, China

What’s special: Smaller than some of the mega-resorts, which can make it more manageable. Also newer expansions, Asian cultural touches.

Entrance fee: One-day adult admission raised to HK$639 (~ US$81) after a price increase.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • Families with kids: The compact size means less walking, easier to manage younger children.
  • All ages: Good mix of gentle rides and some thrills. If you’re thrill-seeking you might still be happy but perhaps fewer ultra-thrill options compared with the largest resorts.

6. Shanghai Disney Resort – Shanghai, China

What’s special: Very modern resort with some unique attractions (for example some that aren’t found elsewhere), large scale, themed lands tailored for Chinese audience while still Disney-branded.

Entrance fee: For a day ticket around US$74-90 according to one cost breakdown.

Which age is it most suitable for?

  • Young families: Yes, many family-friendly options.
  • Teens/adults: With unique rides and modern attractions, definitely a strong pick.
